Kitakyushu City and Davao city celebrated the 5th anniversary of the Green Sister City Conclusion!

Kitakyushu City and Davao City in the Republic of the Philippines have nurtured a friendly relationship, including cooperation in the environmental field, since becoming Green Sister Cities in 2017, and to mark the 5th anniversary, a two-part citizen exchange event was held on the theme of marine plastic waste, which has recently become a global issue.
Part 1: Coastal Cleanup

Since May is Davao City's Environment Month, the Davao Citizens' Coastal Cleanup was held on May 28, and university students from Kitakyushu City participated in the coastal cleanup held at Iwaya Beach on May 29 during the "Clean up Town Beautification Campaign”. At the beach cleanup site, in addition to picking up litter, they used litter survey cards to the participants surveyed the types and quantities of litter on the beach.

Both cities were connected online to report the results of a litter survey at a beach cleanup, introduce activities that university students are engaged in on a daily basis, and exchange opinions.
