We are an environmental venture headquartered in Kitakyushu City, aiming to solve global waste problems with our proprietary pyrolysis device, GXB Series. Our key feature lies in technology capable of processing mixed waste – difficult to sort and treat – directly. Traditionally, waste disposal relied on landfill or incineration, but landfill sites face limitations due to land shortages, while incinerators present the challenge of extremely high implementation costs. We present pyrolysis as a third option, proposing an efficient “zero waste” system.

Our primary targets are Southeast Asia and Pacific islands, where environmental issues are acute. Currently, we use Thailand as our manufacturing and logistics hub, leveraging ASEAN tariff benefits to expand into neighboring countries. From a management perspective, a key feature is our adoption of a “fabless model”, manufacturing through partners rather than owning our own factories, thereby establishing an efficient structure with reduced maintenance costs.

While our fundamental business model is that of an equipment manufacturer developing and producing the systems, we aim to evolve into a company capable of providing a total solution, including system operation, in response to requests from local authorities.

What products is your company aiming to expand overseas?

The greatest strength of our proprietary pyrolysis unit, GXB Series, lies in its self-contained system that recycles energy extracted from waste back into its own operation. It extracts oil from plastics within mixed waste and gas or charcoal from organic waste, maximizing their reuse as fuel for the unit. This achieves low operating costs by minimizing the input of external energy. Furthermore, it dramatically reduces post-treatment waste volume to approximately 5% of the original, offering a valuable solution for local governments struggling to extend the lifespan of landfill sites.

These characteristics offer particular advantages in the island nation model. In small islands like Palau and Tuvalu, where landfill space is limited and transporting waste off-island incurs significant costs, we propose installing GXB Series immediately adjacent to the landfill for on-site processing. This not only extends the landfill's lifespan but also enables the processing of older waste (excavated waste). Currently, Tuvalu is advancing a project to eliminate landfill sites – a rare undertaking in human history – aiming not only to process 100% of daily waste but also to reduce accumulated historical waste within existing landfills. In Palau, an innovative approach involves installing GXB Series on barges, enabling a single unit to process waste while travelling between islands.

Furthermore, demand has grown in recent years from resort developments and smart cities. The system is valued for its ability to efficiently process waste generated within limited areas in a decentralized manner while minimizing environmental impact. Large-scale proposals are underway in locations such as Phuket, Thailand, in collaboration with local smart city enterprises.

What kind of international cooperation and overseas business expansion has your company undertaken to date?

The Asia Carbon Neutrality Centre has supported our overseas expansion in various locations, including projects in Thailand and Cambodia.

Thanks to this, we are now receiving inquiries from various quarters, but challenges in overseas expansion remain numerous. Balancing technology protection with securing personnel is a particular immediate challenge. While the GXB Series unit itself is not overly complex in design, efficient operation requires know-how based on extensive operational experience. The focus is therefore on accumulating this expertise while preventing its misuse by competitors, and on how best to advance training for local staff. Furthermore, we must cultivate skilled engineers both locally and in Japan. In our overseas sales approach, we adhere to a “field-first” philosophy, adapting flexibly to the distinct circumstances of each country. We are diligently pursuing meticulous localization tailored to the actual conditions on the ground, aiming for steady societal implementation.

What are your company's future prospects?

Looking ahead, our immediate goal is to demonstrate that 100% waste processing is achievable in small island nations such as Palau and Tuvalu, aiming for this to become the de facto standard across island states. Building upon such achievements, we then intend to target larger markets. Our ambitions are boundless.
