About Daiseki

Since our founding in 1958, we have consistently supported Japanese industries as a leading industrial waste treatment company, reaching our 69th fiscal year in March 2026. With the trust gained from being the first in our sector to list on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market (formerly the First Section), we now operate recycling businesses centered on waste oil, waste liquids, and sludge across seven locations nationwide. While being a long-established company that has tackled pollution control since the pioneering days of environmental regulations, we have focused our research and development on “how to create recycled products” without relying on incineration or landfills. Adapting to shifts in manufacturing, we have expanded the range of materials we accept to handle industrial waste generated by new growth sectors such as semiconductors and liquid crystal panels. We continually strive to be a “100-year company” that keeps growing.

Furthermore, the entire group covers a wide range of specialized fields, including soil contamination countermeasures, lead refining from used batteries, and crude oil storage tank cleaning, establishing a robust framework that underpins Japan's industrial infrastructure from behind the scenes. Towards realizing a decarbonized society, we play a central role in both promoting recycling and combating global warming. This is particularly relevant as the value of waste-derived fuels continues to be recognized under the Ministry of the Environment's “Act on the Promotion of Measures to Cope with Global Warming” (Global Warming Countermeasures Act). We strive daily to be more than just an industrial waste processor. We aspire to remain a partner driving the formation of a sustainable, circular society through advanced technological capabilities and group synergies.

What products is your company aiming to expand overseas?

We consider waste not merely as something to be disposed of, but as a resource to be returned to society. We are developing businesses in Japan that achieve both environmental conservation and resource circulation. The technology for converting waste into fuel and raw materials, cultivated particularly in resource-scarce Japan, has reached a level capable of meeting global demand through long-standing collaboration with cement plants.Leveraging this strength, we aim to establish a foothold for sustainable environmental business by serving as a platform for “proper treatment to Japanese standards”. This will support Japanese companies expanding into developing nations where environmental infrastructure development is urgently needed, assisting with compliance, recycling promotion, and CO₂ emissions reduction.

What kind of international cooperation and overseas business expansion has your company undertaken to date?

We joined the Ministry of the Environment's City-to-City Collaboration Project for Realizing a Decarbonized Society to connect the recycling technologies we have cultivated domestically with overseas business opportunities, conducting feasibility studies in Vietnam and Indonesia. With support from Kitakyushu Asia Center for Carbon Neutrality and IGES during our fieldwork, we are undertaking this initiative whilst gaining valuable insights. Through these field studies, we have come to realize that conducting business in the same manner as within Japan is quite challenging, given differences in industrial structures, waste types and volumes, national systems and regulations, and the environmental requirements placed on individual companies. Simultaneously, however, we have confirmed the urgent need for proper waste treatment, improved recycling rates, and CO₂ emissions reduction.

What are your company's future prospects?

We aim to establish environmental initiatives not merely as voluntary work but as sustainable businesses, thereby contributing to job creation, the development of manufacturing, and the nation's growth itself. This is because we believe that fostering a robust recycling industry revitalizes primary industries and ultimately forms the foundation supporting the nation's overall economic growth. In Asia's continuously growing economies, we intend to leap forward to become the undisputed “Number One Recycling Company in Asia”. This will be achieved by providing mechanisms that promote economic growth while mitigating environmental risks, tackling not only environmental challenges but also social issues such as inequality and poverty. Through our deep contribution to the growth of local communities, we will earn this title in both name and substance.
